My First Hemmorhoids(HELP!) - Bowel Disorders Message Board

I'm a 23 year old male and I've recently been stricken with a couple of nasty external hemmorhoids.

It's genetic. My father all the way back to his grandfather.

I've tried over the counter creams, increasing the fiber in my diet, significantly decreasing toilet time, basically all the stuff that most every website offers as advice. All to no avail.

I've heard of people with genetic hemmorhoids going in for surgery to have them removed, only to have the hemmorhoids come back in a few months. So, I'm a little hesitant to jump right into that.

Truth be told, I'm losing it here. I've been kickboxing for eight years and no man has ever hit me as hard as these hemmorhoids have.

My question is this.

Can this conditioned be cured?

I'm not talking symptom treatment. I've done all that.

What I want is a proven way to get rid of this problem for good. I can't fathom the idea of living with it for the rest of my life.

Any help would be well appreciated.

look i had them for three years, i had to give up weights and any hard physical
activity, if i started again it bleed worst.
surgery i the last resort and will come back and it is pain full and might cause
more problems . you will have to give up kick boxing and just walk a lot.
i ate all that and got worst to .i still bleed on and off but live with tithe only
thing that has helped was a large change in diet
mangoes with banana and protein powder breakfast blend till smooth with water
soup and veg and mangoes for lunch
egg with veg and mangoes for dinner
drink water in between
rutin and vitamin in morning
stick with the drink three time a day if it really bad but work up to this slowly
it hard but this help me .
i lost a lot of weight form this and it something i do not wish on anybody.
phylium is a joke ,it cause more problems,i found mangoes to make my
bowel movemnets soft and eay to pass.

Thanks for the response, however depressing it was.

I can handle the mangos. But there's no way I'm removing meat from my diet or kickboxing from my life.

My plan as of now is to go see a specialist and threaten to end his life if he doesn't cure me.

Though, I'm still open to better suggestions.

Anyone care to offer more advice? You could save an *** doctor's life in the process.

I feel for you!
I also got hemmerhoids for first time about your age...asked my dad about them (he was a doctor) and he told me he also had them from young age. I also wound up with anal fissures.
My advice to you, is don't worry too much, they should be fine.
When mine got really bad about 6 years ago I saw specialist who offered to surgically remove them, but I was too scared of the anaesthesia to have it done....and I'm really glad I didn't. Though now they seem to use the rubber band technique which doesn't seem nearly as bad. You will learn to live with them, and before you know it you'll have reached an age where half the people your age also have them! Not only that, but once you get your current episode under control and if you are careful with your diet, you may find they don't bother you very often. Mine only act up about once a year now and usually ok within a couple weeks again.
I find none of the creams help me much at all...the best thing in my opinion is warm baths (with nothing but water). When they are bad jump in as often as you can in a day and you will probably be presently surprised by the relief they can give you.
I'm sorry I didn't read your post til today and hope you get this reply. Have you seen the doc yet? Hope your feeling better.
