incomplete emptying

I have had lower left ab pain for months. No diverticuli or whtaever, CT came back clear but there was moderate stool in the whole colon. I think i am having incomplete bowel movements(TMI)....Does anyone have any suggestions? I need to have a complete one to see if the heaviness and discomfort goes away. thank you!

Thumbs up Re: incomplete emptying

if you don't already, increase your fiber intake...slowly!! Or you'll get constipated! If I don't get my 20-25 grams of fiber in daily, I get the same feeling of not being able to empty. Or, I would suggest a colon cleanse...you'll be completely emptied! Did one few months back...what an awesome feeling!

Re: incomplete emptying

You could be having slow GI motility problems, like you said about emptying, you could have delayed gastric emptying, and if that's the case, Reglan is a great medication for that, you take 10mg's 4 times a day and it helps with your motility, motility is the way your GI muscles move, it's called peristalsis, or peristaltic waves, that's the way the muscles work to move stool through the intestines.

Re: incomplete emptying

thank you for the replies. I ahve not taken a laxative or anything, would that be a good idea? This is rather new for me over the last months. I know i have a problem with the emptying because that is the only thing that showed up on the ct scan. Is it normal to have left sided heaviness and discomfort because that is the end of the colon? Thankyou all so much!!!
