I'm trying to recover from two anal fissure oprations. This all started with a hemorrhoid operation which went rather well. Then because of constipation from pain meds, I aquired a fissure. The first Doctor I went to was very aggressive and operated first off. This one barely healed up when I aquired another, larger fissure. He operated on this one too. It has been over a month since the last operation which was five weeks after the first one and I'm still in pain and living on a sitz bath for relief. I went to a colon/rectal specialist and he wasn't too happy about the two operation and also the cutting of the muscle twice. He advised me that I am very lucky to still have control over by bowel movements and advised me that anymore surgerys are out of the question unless I want to wear a diaper, permanently. He has put me on two meds, 5% lidocaine ointment and 2% diltiazem ointment. I just started this meds and haven't had time to see if they will help with the pain. I'd appreciate any info and/or advise which just may help.
