I hope this isn't too long I'll keep it as short as possible. I had my gallbladder removed this spring. I had to have it taken out the old way because of adhesions from so many surgeries. It was agony, I've had many surgeries and it was one of the worst. I guess because the adhesions were so bad and had to be removed. The first night and next day after my surgery I was going to the bathroom every 10-15 minutes to relieve my bladder. Nurses didn't seem too concerned. I was on antibiotics and things settled down. But I have mouth sores that just didn't want to go away. Then at the beginning of September our son was involved in a attack in a serious assault of 4-5 big boys against him, with him on the ground being kicked in the head and such. They left him with a concussion, many missing teeth, fractured nose, black eyes and a few other minor injuries. We are pressing charges as we found later they beat up the wrong kid, it was a friend of his they were after. So this made the flare a bit worse. My doctor started me on Effexor 37.5 then after 2 weeks I was to increase to 75. This was on September 11 and things have been extremely downhill since then. My stomach/large bowel (not sure which) had extreme burning, I had immense pressure on the bladder and had to relieve it about every 10-15 min. Extreme diarrehea also so I had to go to emergency to be rehydrated. There was no beds though so I wasn't kept. It seems like if I'm having diarrehea the bladder isn't bad but as soon as it stops the area in my bowel/stomach starts to swell and I get bloated lower down I get the terrrible pressure pains on the bladder. The docs now think I have a bladder fistula and possibly, large bowel/stomach ulcer. Things weren't too bad though until that effexor was added and then boom everything went wrong. Could it do that? I'm be on about 10 different meds in the last 2 weeks and could list them if needed but I've been on most of them before without this happening. Also what would cause yeast like symptoms in both areas down below? I've been seeing a doc every week but am waiting to get into a specialist in the city. I live in Canada. I guess I'm just getting worried I might not make it with things not getting better and not knowing how long of a wait I might have. Sorry its long but I realize I have a long complicated medical history.

Taking alot of medications can cause all sorts of problems especially when you already have a very bad Irriatable Bowel Disease.

AS you may know Effexor is an anti-depressant and also used for anxiety and panic attacks. It can cause Blurred Vision problems and headaches most commonly but many other side-effects less commonly.

And --Dehydration can also cause alot of symptoms.

I am just not familiar with all the problems associated with Crohn's disease.

I think you need to see the Doctors thatare prescribing then medications.

Thanks Harry. I didn't realize dehydration could cause symtpoms. I guess all I can do is wait to see the specialist and hopefully get things figured out. I just got told today he is on vacation so it could be a month or better until I see him. Thanks again though for trying to help.

I am the same, as soon as the diarrhea slows down i get badly bloated and tender in my abdomen area, i just put it down to post op, but it can't be that if you suffer from it as well.

Sharon is that when your bladder acts up more also? That is when mine is the worse. The docs said its my intestines pushing on it and causing it and I think you told me it would be the small intestine doing that. I also have some bladder incontinence too. Do you suffer this also? I can't remember if that was one of your symptoms or not.
