Metamucil question

Thanks to Harry's suggestions, I've been thinking alot about switching from Citrucel to Metamucil. I know that it causes gas at first, which is what I'm afraid of. I work in an environment where I can't let gas go if I have it, and I'm also full time in college so I'm hardly ever home. I'm very hesitant when I start new things because of these issues.

If I just take the Metamucil at night, will all the gas that it causes be gone by the next morning, until my body adjusts to it?
