Soft Faeces

I've been having soft faeces which aren't always diarrhoea but because they're soft they won't come out in one go so I need to go to the toilet several times even after I've just been.

This can be very debilitating as my bowel movements are so unpredictable as I can't always be near a toilet or spend a long time in there. I try to control it with diarrhoea tablets even though it's not really diarrhoea. I know I should eat a healthy diet of fibre and fruit and veg which I do but I'm afraid this is making the problem worse. Does anyone know how can I harden the faeces. What should I eat?
