Yesterday's Colonoscopy

Hello,

Yesterday I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy... inflammation of the small bowel was found.. (lleum), biopsies taken and I now have to await my results.

My question is.. are there any other medical conditions which can cause inflammation in this area please? I am assuming either Crohns or Colitis.

I think I already know the answer, but 2 weeks is a long time to wait.

Many thanks
Tracy

Re: Yesterday's Colonoscopy

If it was small bowel inflammation, it could also be celiac's.

Re: Yesterday's Colonoscopy

Thank you so much for your reply. I never really gave that a thought. Having read lots and lots as we all do at this stage, the word "jejunum" keeps popping up when referring to celiac... whereas yesterday the surgeon said the inflammation was in my "ileum" . and he did actually mention Crohn's but did not want to diagnose as he wasn't my consultant and he wanted confirmation with the biopsy results first.

I really do appreciate your reply though and will take that into consideration... Thank you.

Re: Yesterday's Colonoscopy

Hi Tracy, I also have inflammation of the duodenum (small bowel) I had two biopsies taken one for celiac's and one for H-pylori (helicobacter) its a bug that can be in your gut. both my biopsies come back ok!!

So I still dont know why I have this problem, only thing I and the doctors are saying at the moment is stress can cause many stomach problems!!

My symptoms are pain under both ribs at the bottom front, pain above belly button and feeling tired, sort of not well!!

What are your symptoms??

Have you had any real bad stress lately??

I am on Losec 20mg x 2 a day....take care...Mandy
