I answered your other post regarding the confusion between soluble and insoluble fiber. You might find some help there in that you need both kinds of fiber daily. I am not surprised you are having loose stools eating apples, raisins and oats. Some good soluble choices are; Rice, pasta, noodles, potatoes(white/sweet), squash, soy, beets, bananas, apples. Some good insoluble options: whole wheat flour items, bread, bran cereal, whole grain breads, nuts, beans, berries, most green veggies, tomatoes, onions.
The trick is to start slowly finding the right mix of soluble and insoluble that work for you daily. Taking fiber supplements can cause some nasty side effects especially if you start taking alot or begin increasing too fast.
If you read my other post to you, eating the soluble helps to equalize the tract from diarrhea and/or constipation. Patience is a must. I would begin with the priority on soluble slowly adding small amounts of insoluble each day.
