| almost bled to death
On the 27th of Feb. I woke up in a pool of blood. Tried to get to a phone and passed out. Woke up a few times but would pass out again. Finally got to phone and called my Mom to take me to the hospital. ER could not find any vital signs at first and said I had maybe 2 hours to live if I had not gotten to the ER. Stabilized and taken to ICU, drank the "nasty Golightly and had a colonoscopy. Dr. found one pocket and a small tear in rectum. Fixed them and thought all was well. 2 days later bleeding again so more "nasty drink" and 2nd colonoscopy. Found many diverticula on colon underside. Emergency surgery and removed 8 inches of colon. 12 units of blood, 4 plasma, and 4 platelets, intervenous minerals. 11 days in the hospital. I am 52 eat healthy, work full time and was in shock this happened. I have had bouts of diarhea at times but had none of the usual symptoms. Any thoughts?
