mlynn,
You live in one of my favortie states!!
And yes anyone that has taken antibiotics has had this type of problem but we all react differently.
That antibiotic is very strong-- I could only take it for 4 days and had to stop. As you may know it kills off the friendly bacteria as well as the bad type of infection/bacteria you wanted to get rid of-- The problem now is how do I get the good friendly bacteria back and thriving in your intestines???
I suggest you start eating yogurt -- several teaspoons every 2 to 3 hours. The object is to flood your digestive system with the friendly bacteria.
The brand of yogurt that is good is Stoneyfield Farm-- it contains extra active cultures to help rebalance your intestines. It is made in NH so you should find it but if you can't-- read the labels and get the one with the most active cultures.
Also, if you can find some Kefir -- it is also good and contains alot of friendly bacteria.
You may have developed a candida infection that may have to be treated with an anti-fungal type of medication like Nystatin or Diflucan.
You could also try taking a probiotic supplement twice daily.
This antibiotic has been know to produce gastritis-- inflammation of the stomach lining. I hope you don't have it.
I wish you well---Harry
