I have been reading posts on this website from people who have constipation that they can't get rid of with some laxatives and they suspect that they are impacted. I am kinda suspecting that maybe that is the case with me and that is why laxatives don't always work for me and when they do they only work for the first day and then they stop being effective. My question is since i have constant gas and gas incontinence does anyone think that impacted stools could be causing this? I have dealt with chronic constipation since childhood and I am 21 now so maybe the stool is so backed up that it is causing this gas all the time and it is causing the gas to be able to seep out. Have any of you had experiences like this? Do you think impacted stools could be causing the gas production? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I had to take my son, who is 9years old to the doctor for his stomach pain and gas. And after doing x-rays, they found out he had impacted bowls.
His doctor instructed me to give him a Fleet treatment, once a day for 3 days. And after that, he advised me that I could sneak mineral oil into his diet every so often so that the problem may not come back.
So far, so good. So I hope maybe this will help some.

K-Ann,

Head back to the sphincteroplasty board for some great info on gas meds from a new member named Robin. I think we are all going to try it. She has had some good success with it--Maybe it could help you too
