| Rectal yeast infection
I had surgery in June for diverticulitis. After the surgery, I developed a rectal yeast infection. The dr. prescribed ointment and fluconazole and it cleared up. It has now returned. My rectum is burning and it is very raw on the outside. I also have a sometimes clearand sometimes cloudy discharge. I have never had a vaginal yeast infection but understand that the discharge from that is either cloudy, clear or cottage cheese like. I talked to my dr.'s office and was told to start back on the fluconazole from the last time. Also, the nurse said I might need a sigmoidoscopy. I am to call the dr. on Monday.
I would like to hear from anyone who has experienced this. I am a 62 year old female.
