Hello, this is a pretty embarassing and not pleasant post... and I really thank you for reading it.
I had a couple questions regarding my above topic. I generally have fairly soft and thin stool. Occasionally I will have normal very thick and solid ones. But mostly borderline diarrhea.
My concern is every now and then, my stool will turn into pure liquid. It burns a bit coming out but its just completely liquified.
I imagine I need to go see a Gastro doctor but my question is, how long after you eat something does it come out the other end? I'm trying to pinpoint this to see if its some sort of food allergy (as I have really bad allergies) and its just bothering my bowels.
My other thought is post nasal drip... I have A LOT of it... and wondering if that is making my stool loose all the time.
The only thing I can see in it is what looks like spinach. I did eat an Indian Food dish which had spinach in it about 24 hours give or take before the liquid stool occured... does it take that long for things to go through your system?
Also I don't see any blood or anything in my stools. I do have bad gas almost constantly but I attributed it to the fact that I drink sparkling water every day. Not sure if that's important or not...
This is rather common, and can be drawn back to sudden diet changes, or static eating, or even plain old stress.
What's your typical meal like? How many times a day do you eat? Do you eat off the hour, as in, do you eat late at night, or only a few moments before sleeping?
Stress can also cause this. Are you often stressed?
Another factor in this could be a lack of exercise. Exercise, even if it's not at all intensive, or consistent, is key in the proper functionality of our insides.
Depending on what you eat it takes anywhere from a couple hours to 48 hours to digest food. It will be eliminated from the body anywhere from 24-48 hours or more...I think you are right in see a gasto specialist. It could be stress or it could be alergies. Gluten in pasta, bread etc. is a huge trigger to your symptoms. It is much better to be sure of what is going on then unsure. Knowing whatever it is, is the first step to recovery. And that is what we all want...right? We're all on here for help...
There is nothing I started eating that was different than what I normally eat. But I had never heard of having liquid stool.
If it was lactose intolerance or a food allergy would it make sense that it could take up to 48 hours for it to "come out"? The only other thing I can think of is the post nasal drip.
Go read some of the posts in the Allergies section... post nasal drip is not good for your intestines or your stomach. Can cause nausea and a bunch of stuff.
