Question about my bowel movements

Ok here we go. For about a day now I have noticed soft stools that is not diarrhea. Usually I only have stool like that when I have eat something that doesn't agree with me or if I am on antibiotics. The bowel movements aren't large. I wouldn't call the size of the stool stringlike because it is not skinny, but the only way I can think to describe the size is to say its stringy. After going I feel like there is still more that needs to come out, but that feeling goes away after a few minutes. I have had a cold for the past few days and took some OTC cold medication. I started taking that yesturday and this is when the soft stools started. Could that be causing this or could something else be behind this?
