impaction and no insurance til december

I think I have a fecal impaction and I won't have medical coverage until december. How do I keep it from getting worse until then?

Re: impaction and no insurance til december

Yikes! You surely can't wait until December to do something about it!

Do you at least have a doctor you can call who can prescribe some Colace (a prescription stool softener)? If not, try some Miralax, prune juice...any sort of mild laxative.

If things get worse, do seek treatment at the ER. They cannot turn you away because of lack of insurance.

Good luck,
Linda

Re: impaction and no insurance til december

they cant turn me away but they can bill me. And it will become a pre-existing condition so insurance wont pay for any related expenses. if i later have to have surgery i can be in debt for life. Going to the ER is not an option for me.

As in previous post - try Miralax - I use that - no taste to it - just add to juice, coffee, anything. It really helps me!
