| | Ibs??
In high school I noticed that eating dairy made my stomach hurt, I'd get gas and cramps, and my stool would get soft. I thought it might be lactose intolerance, so I took lactaid before I ate dairy and was usually ok. Now, everything I eat makes me either poop a lot (like 5 to 7 times a day) or not poop at all! I never feel "satisfied" after I go to the bathroom and my stool is generally too soft that I have to wipe a million times! I have gas ALL the time, no matter what I do, or eat or take. It's quite unfortunate. And by gas, I mean like, flatulents. I get gurgly bowels and bad gas.
Now, my roomie thinks she contracted cryptosporidiosis from work and we didn't really think about it at first, thinking she had the stomach flu.
She started on Tuesday, and today my stools keep getting softer with every bowel movement I'd had, not diarrhea, but I'm terrified that the next time I go it will start.
Do my symptoms above sound like IBS? Could my fear of getting sick be contributing to my current bowels movements? I have pretty sever anxiety and take Lexapro to control it, so I know that I'm totally freaking out right now, and I've read that stress can contribute to IBS.
Any thoughts? thanks!
