it's an Upper GI Endoscopy or esophagogastroduodenoscopy. It's a scope that's inserted via the mouth, down the throat, through the esophagus to/through the stomach and into the duodenum (which is the first part of the small intestine).
Biopses are pieces of tissue that are taken (on the way back) to test for any changes/inflammation/bacteria/...etc in the cells of the upper digestive tract.
