Recovery After Hemmorrhoids And Polyp Removel - Bowel Disorders Message Board

Hi can anyone tell me if they have experienced severe pain after this operation which was Friday 4th
My husband (age 67)is at his wits end with this pain. He has sergery for Polyp and (elastic band treatment) piles removel.
pain killer which he was given ( co-codamol) have not worked and with it benn the weekend..and the day care unit closed I could not call the doctor for advise.When I called the hospital through the night they gave me a no for after house...doc just said give him Iburophen, this did not work again.
I have given him salt baths and hot water bottle which helps but when the pain is severe he just about faints.
Anyone else had this problem...and solutions.Thanks

I wished I could help but I just have questions. What kind of doctor did this? Was it a general surgeon or a colonrectal doc?

Hi it was a general surgeon...we have since found out the medication pain killers were to low of dozage for the pianful condition. he now has 4 times a stronger doze of co-codamol. still in pain today.
