I am having a colonoscopy tomorrow,what kind of drug if any do they give before the procedure.I know they are going to start IV a soon as I get there I am very nervous and scared

I just had one a couple of months ago. It was nothing, except that I have a problem with needles. They had to stick me three times to find a vein. Once I came back from the haze, everything was fine. I was very hungry, and asked for a cheeseburger, but didn't get it. Don't worry. It will be fine.

I have had a Colonoscopy 3 years ago, and I do not remember ANYTHING from the procedure!

ANYWAY---- my doctor, who is a good friend of mine, gives 50-65 mg of Demerol alomg with as much Versed as you need to make you comfortable.
A little advise-----IF you have to drink the GALLON prep solution, follow the directions on the bottle---Plus, CHILL the water filledgallon 12 or more hours ahead of time, mix half the jug with one flavor pack, and then the second half with another flavor, that way you get a different flavor half way, last of all use a straw to drink the 8 oz with. Also you may need to add ice cubes, so it goes down better--------AND LASTLY!!!!!-----STAY NEAR A TOILET!!!!!!!!!! Start your prep early 3-4pm so you can SLEEP without interruptions the night before the procedure.....
