| Intense Itchiness after Parasite
I was diagnosed with Entamoeba Histolytica, after giving a stool sample; I was having diarrhea and an itchy rectum, and seeing fresh blood from my rectum on the toilet paper. I went through quite an intense treatment of 10 days of Metronidazole (Flagyl), followed by 7 days of Paramomycin (Humatin). This was about two months ago. I went for a follow-up, gave another stool sample, and found out that I was cleared of the parasite. However, I am still have extremely intense rectum itchiness, pain (of the rectum) when passing stool, and nearly every movement, I see blood on the toilet paper from my rectum, even though it's all supposedly been cleared up.
I am living in constant discomfort. Any thoughts?
