I have a hemorrhoid that appears to have a blood blister on it!

I have what I think is a normal hemorrhoid but it appears to have two blood blisters on it. Is that a thrombosed hemorrhoid?? If not has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

A regular hemorrhoid is a sac of blood vessels so not sure what you see. You talk about regular hemorrhoid as if it didn't have blood in it...it does just not so much. They swell up at times with more blood and they can rupture causing lots of blood or a little blood but with that rupture comes relief of pain. Perhaps yours is just more swollen with blood than normal?

Re: I have a hemorrhoid that appears to have a blood blister on it!

Once you have the hemorrhoid it is there until it is taken off by the doctor. Occasionally they swell up with blood and then the blood is absorbed and it returns to its normal state of just a flap of skin. It is the normal progression of things with hemorrhoids. However having hemorrhoids is not normal...a lot of people have them but they are not a normal thing to have. If they don't bother you then you will be fine swollen or not but for some they are terribly painful and must have them removed. They tend to swell up with blood if you are straining too much as in constipation and most women get them through the course of pregnancy.

sounds like an external hemorrhoid? not one that's sticking out from the inside, right?

how much discomfort are you having?

Sitz baths and hydrocortisone cream can help.
