How many days after a colonoscopy b4 you had a BM?

I was taken to the hospital by ambulance one week ago today due to hours of diarrhea and vomiting. The diarrhea got so bad that I was bleeding. I lost a good cup of blood in the ER.

I did a bowel prep Tuesday late afternoon and had a colonoscopy Wednesday. I have not had a BM yet and my stomach feels sore/bloated. I realize we are all different, but how many days seems to be the norm b4 having a BM?

After an endoscopy and the colonoscopy they tell me I have ulcers as well as diverticulosis (no infection).

Thanks!
SusieO

I tend to be on the constipated side anyway (even when well I only go 2x/week). It takes me about a week after a clean out to have another BM. You can try over the counter stool softeners if you are worried. Miralax is a powder that is tasteless. I've even used correctol on occasion when it goes over a week to get things moving. A call to your doctor isn't a bad idea either.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Zoe. I did "go" today - after 4 days. I started a stool softener 2 days ago along with my other supplements.

I just didn't want to get constipated because I had been hospitalized for ulcers and diverticulosis.
