Hi - I am very sorry to hear that you have had to go through this. I also have had about 12 feet of bowel removed and I really suffered after my bowel resection with awful diarrhea. I felt like a prisoner in my own home, afraid to eat much of anything. The good news is that I had a Dr. who recommended trying a medication called Questran. It is for cholesterol reduction and also has been successful in treating symptoms resulting from short bowel syndrome. It has worked like a charm for me and I have been able to start to get my life back.
