colon resection

I had part of my sigmoid taken out because of a malignant polyp, 3 days after regular diet, I had first bowel movement which did have a little blood in it, I also have hemorrhoids, is this normal. I'm also taking Lovenox injections everyday.

Re: colon resection

Lovenox is a blood thinner, dont know why but there must be a reason your taking it. It certainly will thin your blood and any bleeding will be magnified.Hemroids do bleed so it could be that its normal for hemroids to bleed, I also have a couple and every now and then they bleed a little bit. I had resection almost a month ago, I never had any bleeding from it and I am just about back to normal now

Re: colon resection

Hemorrhoid can bleed if you strain with a BM but the removal of a polyp should have been cauterized and not bled. No rectal bleeding is normal..

To put your mind at ease --- you could see your doctor.
