Help

I have Crohn's disease and an extremely dry mouth (not related I think). The doc encouraged me to chew sugarless gum to stimulate saliva and I accidently swallowed it.

Will this stupid thing I did hurt me?

My Crohn's has been acting up last day or so and I probably should not have been chewing the gum when it acts up because not sure the Mint flavor is good for Crohns anyway. However, I am more concerned about any harm I did by swallowing the darn thing.

Can I still stay on my rice and chicken diet til the Crohns is better or because I swallowed the gum should I stay away from things to bind me up?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Help

Thats interesting I never thought about chewing gum affecting my crohn's disease before. I have swallowed a bit, it seems like one small piece of gum shouldn't hurt. You really eat just rice and chicken? Does the mint really affect the crohns? I haven't ever really tried to narrow down what I can and can't eat, I am not good with the self control even if it means I will feel better, mostly I stay away from fried foods and have dairy in moderation, any way good luck with the chewing gum.
