Meals thread for bowel health -anusitis

My Dr. has advised me to stick to a diet to treat anusitis:

It includes avoiding all 'hot spices', pepper, ginger, curry, mustard etc, tomato sauces and garlic. Also avoid beer, coffee, cola drinks, chocolate, nuts, popcorn and sugar substitutes.

I was also asked to eat white bread only, white rice, cereals only -corn flakes, rice crispies etc.

Coarse milled, orighinal texture unflavoured metamucil - keeps me regular.

After a month and a half, my anus has been MUCH happier, but my variety of food options is depressing.

Can you please suggest 'non irritating' plain/ bland meals that you enjoy?
THanks

Re: Meals thread for bowel health -anusitis

Laurie, I don't want to hijack my own thread because I was looking for meal Ideas... but this is important. My specialist Dr. gave me no idication that I should avoid any fruit or juices. He actually said to eat ANY fruit. He suggested to peel apples and pears which would help reduce stomach bloating. I do notice irritation if I cheat and have ANY spices/pepper etc. Laurie, another thing that helped in coordination with diet is the use of an ANUREX device. It substantially helped sooth the burning and helped healing. Also keep the area clean, use a drop of hypoalergenic moisteriser and top off with a cotton ball, day and night. Trust in the metamucil to do its job while your region heals, 2 tsp morning, 2 tsp night.

Why do you think you have anusitis? I have always been confused with and confused anal fissures, hemroids etc. Dr. said my anusitis (he doesn't 'believe in hemroids') caused the fissures. Thes have now now healed but the 'itis continues.
