I'm a 26-year-old male who was diagnosed with Crohn's at the age of 19. Shortly thereafter I was also diagnosed with a very mild form of PSC (primary schlerosing cholangitis). Last October I began experiencing soreness in my right upper quadrant. Nothing unbearable, but definitely noticeable. When the soreness did not subside, I notified my gastroenterologist.

Since the soreness tended to migrate from my side to beside my belly button and just below my rib cage, the doctor was at a bit of a loss as to what may be the cause. Wanting to play it safe, we went ahead with an ultrasound of the gallbladder, liver and pancreas. The results came back fine. Two months later (April now) the soreness was still present, accompanied by soreness in my mid back. My doctor ordered an MRCP (an MRI of the pancreas and the common bile duct). Again, the results came back fine.

A few weeks later I underwent my yearly colonoscopy. I don't have the report in front of me, but it did indicate a small area of mildly active Crohn's. Didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, though.

Now we still have not pinpointed the cause of this and I am still experiencing migrating soreness on my right side, anywhere from my hip and upper butt to my shoulder. Seeing as how the tests I have undergone have seemed to rule out anything having to do with the gallbladder, liver or pancreas, I am now concerned that it may be lung-related. I am not a smoker, and have never smoked regularly (only occasionally as a teen), but the soreness in the shoulder and shoulder blade area, as well as the ribs, has me concerned. I do have a fairly persistent cough, but it is something I've had for years and had always attributed to allergies. It is not a deep cough, more like a tickle in the throat.

I have been seeing a chiropractor in the hopes that perhaps it is nerve related, but now it is difficult to decipher what soreness is due to the chiropractic adjustments and what it due to this ongoing issue. The one condition that I've come across on the internet that makes the most sense to me is gastritis, since I do take anti-inflammatories several times per day. But I still am not sure that would be the cause. I see my doctor again next week, but I'd appreciate any input I could get here.

At first I was concerned this had something to do with my known conditions. But as time has gone on, I am growing increasingly concerned that it could be something else, and possibly something more serious.
