What is Fecal Stasis?

My 3.5yr old son just had an x-ray of his stomach due to the very strong odor of his stools. He started having issues when he began holding his stools when potty training.

Anyway, this is what the initial report of his xray states:

There is stool in the cecum and in the rectum, there may be some degree of fecal stasis.

I looked up fecal stasis and most of the info was about rabbits or just said can contribute to appendicitis (which runs strong in my family).

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks!
