| If you have gas, does it disrupt your sleep?
Sometimes I cannot get to sleep, or I wake up and cannot get back to sleep.
When this happens, I feel my intestinal area and I can feel a bit of pain.
Which I think means that if I am gassy or constipated, it causes the intestines to bloat.
Why does intestinal bloating affect my sleeping?
Sometimes my left leg becomes restless in severe cases, so are the intestines pushing on a nerve or something? Perhaps the vagus nerve x?
When it happens, I take a laxative and the pain goes away. Then I can sleep, and it doesnt happen again for a couple of days.
My stools are rarely solid. Perhaps the waste is building up and causing bloating, because the intestines are having a hard time pushing the waste through?
If I eat hot chips or spagetti, that night its almost guaranteed to happen.
I have tried fiber (metamucil) but that doesnt seem to help. It solidifies the stools more, but I get cramps if I have too much and therefore cant sleep.
Any tips?
Why can some people eat like a hog and get really gassy, but sleep ok?
