foul smelling bowel movements

For the past month or so I have been experiencing horrible smelling bowel movements. I flush, leave the bathroom, and the odor lingers for a long time. I eat a sensible diet, drink plenty of water and generally live a healthy lifestyle. Could it be a parasitic infection or what?
Also, my stomach STAYS bloated even though I take probiotics daily.

Well....I feel your pain! I'm not doctor but most likely bacteria or infection causing the odor. I have crohns disease and believe it or not sometimes my bowel movements smell like a skunk! LOL! My husband always teases me and says what did you eat? Anyway, if it continues or you have other issues with it....cramping, pain etc. I would consult your physician. At least you know you're not alone!

I've had a horrible time with this also. It smells like something has died inside me and you better stay back from the bathroom. I learned a long time ago that I was Lactose Intolerant (allergic to milk products). If I don't eat anything with milk in it, my colon does alot better. I basically have to make everything I eat but there are some great soy milks and butters that make it easier. Lactose products are in alot of processed foods and it's not easy to eat out. And there are alot of names they use for milk products. I pray that this helps and I pray that you're not Lactose Intolerant. God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay precious49

Smelly stools are usually caused by poor digestion of the food you eat or drink.. It can just mess up your digestion.

The food or drink can contain too much sugar including simple carb, too much salt or spicy foods. Also some medication like antibiotics can cause the friendly intestinal bacteria to get out of balance and have to be rebalanced-- yogurt, kefir and probiotic supplements can help.
Digestive enzymes taken with meals can help digestion-- Omega Zyme and Essential Enzymes are both good.
