Many times stomach cramping as well as spasms also in the rectum is caused by lack of magnesium in the diet. You could try taking a magnesium supplement.
I have found the chelated type is best for absorption-- taken in divided doses 3 times a day for a total daily dose of 400mgms. I like and take Carlsons & Solgar best. The chelated magnesium that is bonded to a protein amino acid -- glycinate.
Every cell in your body contains magnesium-- 66% is in the bones and some experts believe 75% of people are deficient.
