Hemorrhoid Advice

Hello All,

I was searching tips and ideas to cure my hemorrhoid from last 1 and half years. I saw this forum and thought it's a good idea to share with you all and get some idea.
Well, I have internal and external hemorrhoid. I am controlling my carb intake. I am taking fiber, green vegetables, lots of water but also one or twice in a week my hemorrhoid gets painful and itching and bleeds as my stool passes. I noticed my stool is soft compared to one year before but also it hurt my internal hemorrhoid and I have a tough time.
I checked all teh hemorrhoid pictures online and found mine is small in size. It's slightly smaller than black eye bean. I don't know which tratment will be good??laser or surgery???

If anyone has advice or some suggestions --Please feel free to write it down for me.
I am in upstate,NY.

Please help me to get rid of this...embrassing thing

Re: Hemorroid Advice

Hello, from what you describe I would guess you have an anal fissure and not hemorrhoids. The small thing you think is a hemorrhoid could be a skin tag that develops externally in line with the internal fissure. You need to see a doctor to get a clear diagnosis and once you know exactly what it is you can then start to treat it. Cheers, kennyboy.

Re: Hemorroid Advice

Thanks Kennyboy,
I have been to family Doctors but not a specific doctor for Hemorrrhoids. As per my Family Doctor she told me it's Hemorroids.I don't know. I am applying onitment --suppository. On top of that the treatment cost is very expensive in USA.

Thanks once again..

Re: Hemorroid Advice

I was wrongly diagnosed as suffering from hemorrhoids by my doctor until a specialist said it was an anal fissure not hemorrhoids (although you could in fact have both). You have to be sure what it is so that you can start the correct treatment. Good luck and let us know what it really is when you are sure. Cheers, kennyboy

Hi,
I have external and internal hemorroids, and went to see a Colon rectal surgeon, who has been brilliant.
My external droids are too small for surgery even though i can feel them, but he rubber banded the 3 internal ones over a period of 3 months and my bleeding has completely stopped.
I have been taking a small sip of Milk of Magnesuim before i go to bed to soften my stool for the morning and give my poor rectum a rest
I am going to try and change my diet to contain more fibre and stop reading in the toilet which unfortunately i love to do

Re: Hemorrhoid Advice

Hi,
I was referred to a Colon/Rectal Surgery and the doctors there are the best people to treat you for your problem. They deal with everything that concerns the colon and Rectal area, from colonoscopies, hemorroids, cancer, lots more.
They would be better to advise on what treatment you need for your hemorroids, there are a few treatments to fix hemorroids and they would be able to tell you what would work for you.
The rubber banding takes just minutes to do, the only pain i felt was after and it was only a dull ache around my rectum area, which went away after a few hours.
Once the hemorroid had died it fell off approx 5 days after the banding, you don't even see it or feel it.
The amount the doctor charged my insurance was $407 per hemorroid and depending on you insurance you pay a percentage of that (mine was 20%).
If you have no insurance it might be cheaper I am not sure.
Before I had the banding done, the doctor did an initial examination of my rectum area to make sure it was hemorroids that were bleeding and nothing else, and that was a separate cost to the banding (Approx $400).
As I said earlier the colon Rectal doctors will advise you in what treatment you need.

Re: Hemorrhoid Advice

Hi,
Yes the bleeding has stopped since the internal ones were banded.
I just now need to keep a healthy diet and exercise to keep them away.
You will be doing the best thing going to see the specialist as they deal with that area of the body all the time and they will help you out.
Best wishes to you.
