| What is the current recommendation for colonoscopy?
I thought the recommended elapsed time was ten years between colonoscopies, after age 50. DH had his first routine one yesterday (it went well and he got a good report). The only problem they mentioned was that he may not have been totally cleaned out like they prefer, so he probably should have another one in three years rather than the "recommened five" (though based on what the doctor saw everything looked good). The five jumped out at me. I didn't think that was the recommendation at all. DH has never had any problems, there were no polyps and there is no family history of cancer. So why would the doctor have said that? DH is going to ask his family doctor, but I thought I would see what your doctors have suggested first. Maybe it has recently been changed to five?
Thanks!
