i had a fissurectomy + botox injections and removal of skin tags. I was not at all prepared for the intense pain i endured after surgery following my bm's. I was on toradol (pain killer) that i took every 6 hrs for the first 5 days and darvoset when needed (every day). The pain would start within minutes of my daily, morning bm and last until late afternoon. This went on for approx. 10 days. The pain started easing a bit every day and i'm now on day 24 and still sitting on a heating pad immediately following my morning bm's till around noonish. I have been watching my diet...lots of water, lots of fiber, no alcohol

. I had no idea the recovery would be this painful or take this long. I'm hoping for success in the long run as i've suffered from this fissure for about 9-10 yrs. I just want to get back to normal...lucky for me i work for a school district and have summers off so i didn't have to worry about going to work and i have grown children so didn't have that worry. I've had to fight depression from being in pain and the unexpected length of time it is taking to heal. My doctor says i'm healing normally and when i told him i was't prepared for the amount of pain...he just nodded his head and made no comment. I hate this stupid butt problem and am hopeful that i won't have to deal with it anymore once i've fully recovered (if there comes such a day!)
