I had a successful colon resection ( Laproscopic) at then end of Nov 08. I am 51 and had had 5 attacks in on yr. Prior to that I had one attack 5 years ago and then I was fine.
My recovery went well and then 2 days ago the same tell tale pain on my left side started again. Is it possible to grow pouches in 3 months. They told me that they had removed all pouches and i had zero left.
I have not had problems for 3 months and all seemed to be going well. Has anyone experienced this after surgery?
I just posted about the same issue. I changed to a lower carb diet & went low fiber for a few days. I feel much better. Perhaps try a low fiber diet and watch your carbs and see if you feel better.
I had to come up with this on my own, when I called my PCP and my surgeon, they told me to go to the ER if I had pain. I would have had to move in to the ER if I went every time I had pain. Ridiculous.
Thanks so much I will try that. I have all this work travel for 2 month and this just freaks me out. I understand about the ER, I cannot bear to do that again. Twenty five years ago I had a kidney stone and i know it took years to not think every pain was another one.
I am at 7 weeks post-op from a colon resection. (No cancer Thank God!) but...I am still having pain on my upper left side.. is this surgical related or should I go to the doctor, or is this normal? I am popping pain pill (1/2 Vicodin) at night just to sleep. I have not had 1 day since the surgery without pain.

Reason: misspellings
No reason why not to go to the doctor. I went probably 4 times post surgery because I really didn't know what was normal and what wasn't.
I found that I had pain because of my diet. When I changed to a low carb, lower sugar, moderate fiber diet and cut out all red meat except for ground meat, I felt much better.
