fast digestion & orange stools

This past week I've had some digestive issues. It started with what I'm guessing is a hemorrhoid I noticed last Friday. A little uncomfortable but not painful. I actually played golf Saturday and worked out a few times this week and it's not excruciating when I use the bathroom. Also no blood when wiping. The bad part has been since three days ago I've had the incredible urge to use the bathroom like an hour after eating a meal. When i do go, usually two to four hours later because I'm at work, my stool has been orange and I can see the food I just ate in there.

The only things I can think of is I started eating carrots a couple weeks ago as a snack at work, but when I stopped yesterday i still had the orange stools today. Then I also started taking Alpha Lipoic Acid late last week and I'm wondering if this is my body detoxing itself. If so should I stop the ALA? I eat oatmeal, apples and beans pretty frequently so I don't think it's a fiber thing. I am just very cautious when it comes to my colon and digestion cause I hear that's where a lot of bad things get started.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: fast digestion & orange stools

How much of the ALA are you taking? It actually sounds like you're having steatorrhea...i.e. large amount of fat in the stool and it could be from the ALA consumption. There is no such thing as the body "detoxing" itself. That is a concept that is fabricated by natural medicine companies to make you buy their product. The only way one can "detox" him/herself is to eat a healthy diet and exercise.
