im 32 btw. had a short bout with constipation which probably caused this. i noticed a small bump outside of my anus. it got to the size of a pea roughly and coloured dark blue or purple. i had it for like 1.5 weeks, it was quite sensitive a few days ago but not now. its still dark blue and maybe got smaller a tiny bit. there is no pain, just itching and a slight prickle feeling.
from reading some of the other external thrombosed hemorrhoid threads i wonder if i should go see the doctor or wait longer for it to go away? i read it takes up to 4 weeks for them to disappear?
Hopefully, your hemorrhoid is gone by now, but I had a similar situation last summer but it took almost five weeks to go away. The worst is not knowing what to expect. You just have to be patient, easier said then done I know.

not quite, theres still a slight purple bump to be seen. though its only been like 2.5 to 3 weeks or so.
I had a external thrombosis hemorrhoid from a stint of constipation and was on vacation so the drinking/caffeine/unhealthy diet did not help things. In fact made it worse.
Today I went to the doctor after a week of dealing with the symptons due to the persistent bleeding and pain. It turned out to be a clot, doctor numbed, cut it and drained it. I'm just guazing right now but was prescribed suppositories and hydro (will not take unless absolutely necessary due to potential constipation). We'll see how things go the rest of the week.
Any suggestions for what to do shortly after the procedure to recover quickly?
