incomplete bowel movements

I usually have a daily bowel movement but i hardly ever feel finished and stool is still in my rectom. I have occasional constipation and bloating but the stool is always loose and soft, never firm and large. sometimes it is very narrow. Some days i go two or three times but its usually small amounts. I almost always feel like i need to go again but then nothing happens or just a small amount comes out. Im afraid im poisoning my body by this stool that stays in there.

I have the same symptoms. I think diet is a big part of it...to much preservatives and processed foods.. I don't know...but if you increase your fibre by taking metamucil daily is supposed to help. I did it for a short while which did help but then I had one bad explosive episode and then I went off of it so I don't know !!!

Have a look at the thread for STARR op.for bowel prolapse, you may find some of the information interesting.

My symptoms were similar to yours, I do not eat processed foods, I have a healthy diet and cook all my own food, making sure I have a regular amount of fruit, veg. & fibre.

I also have bloating, stools are always loose & soft and sometimes very narrow. Do you feel like a a golf ball is stuck after you have been, I feel this all the time. Have you been to your GP about this, you may need a referral to a Colorectal specialist.

I am going into hospital on Tuesday 2 March for a STARR operation to correct the prolapse.

Re: incomplete bowel movements

Any luck yet? Have you tried a mild laxative to see if that helps?
That would be a good idea just to see if perhaps you are just irregular some.
Drop a line and let us know how you make out.

Re: incomplete bowel movements

Hello, I saw your post on the website and was curious how your symptoms turned out or even if you've been to a doctor to find out. I have and still no answers. I'v not had a colonoscopy yet, I'm saving the money for it, I don't have insurance at my job yet, will soon, but still it's not at this time.
I seem to be having the same particular symptoms as you do. The narrowing of BM's , weakness all the time. I feel like I need to be pushed into anything that I do daily, other than eat and sleep.
I'm so weak that I only eat fast food anymore. My stomach is bloated constantly and cramping in the lower abdominal area, sort of in the middle. And when I do "GO"
It's only a little bit and then I feel like I'v got to go right back to the bathroom again seconds after I walk out the bathroom door. I'v been living with this problem for 15 months now.
I had gone to the ER 3 times last year, right after symptoms started. My blood tests/ fecal tests and urine tests ALL came back negative, everything that was tested (even a CT scan of my belly) were all good. Not ONE THING WRONG WITH ME AS DR. SAID.....
When I read your symptoms, I thought maybe someone is out there that feels like I do, KNOWS something is wrong but everything points to NOT wrong....Maybe you've gone to see a Doctor that might have diagnosed you.
Pretty much all I seem to be able to find out is on the internet. My symtoms sound like I'v got Colon Cancer and a majority of colon cancer is malignant. I just can't imagine any other alternative, I'v seen a few things that sound like what I'v got but there is usually some ONE THING that is major to the disease I'm looking at counts it out as the culprit. Even Colon Polyps turn out being malignant. I feel like I'v waited too long and am at the END STAGE of the whole thing. I know I need a colonoscopy and still haven't done it. Have you had one????????????????
I'm not sure when you wrote that post you wrote, I'm having my sister copy and paste my comments onto the website so you can read them and maybe we can help each other. My computer isn't letting me Login / or Comment to anything on the site, all I can do is READ. It's a bit hard to figure out anything when you can't write back immediately to the person you're trying to get info from . What I'm saying is, If it takes me a day to get back to you, please don't leave, i'll be there , just a bit slow.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING, I am hoping if nothing else that we can help each other diagnose the problem we both have.

Re: incomplete bowel movements

I have the same symptoms as what was described in the above posts. Its crazy because its like exactly the same! I can't find any specific foods that bother me. I have the same type of bowel movements as described along with bloating at times severe, as well as gas. The gas is there all of the time! Over the counter stuff just doesn't even touch it. Its all intestinal gas too. I finally went to a gastroenterologist and she ordered an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. For some reason she thinks it could be celiacs disease. There is also a specific blood test for it as well but its not always accurate.

However, I don't have the money to pay for these tests so I'll have to live with this crap (haha) even longer! I agree with the colon cancer symptoms sounding similiar to ours. Pretty scary so lets pray its not that! I am only 22 so I wouldn't think I need to worry about colon cancer but who knows.

Just to add a few more symptoms that I've noticed with mine....it almost seems like my colon or intestines gets swollen which makes my pancreas and left kidney hurt. I notice these symptoms only when i'm somewhat constipated. Which is kind of all the time since not all of it ever comes out. Have you experiencd pain in those areas as well?
