Foods to eat to soft stool - possible rectal prolapse diagnosis??

Having had issues with my bowel movements I scheduled a visit with my doctor. During the appoint I explained that I had been having issue with my bowel movements ripping the skin because the tip of it is extremely hard large to pass. After examination, he stated that I may have Rectal prolapse prolapsed and referred me to a surgical specialist for further examination. I would prefer to refrain from having surgery and was would like some input of how to help prevent symptoms from worsening/ or cure it all together. I have read in multiple different forums that it is important to keep your stool soft. I have issues with this, as it always seems that the very beginning of my stool is extremely hard and difficult to pass, yet the rest is soft. I eat very healthy (lots of fruits and veggies, I stay away from the greasy stuff) but nothing helps! Does anyone have suggestions on what to eat to or what I should do to try to soften the beginning of my stool?? Thank you!!

I have exactly the same issue as u have. Eating all the right things seems to make no difference at all for me too...

Taking a stool softener is the only way i can solve the problem. I settled on a product called RestoraLAX(peg 3550) using for about a year on a daily basis and it has been a godsend so far.

hi,

please read my post on this thread:

http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=755008

this should really help you alot. it will make whatever comes out of your anus like water, and enough fluid and looseness to more easily pass out any movements.

there is also a product here called hemoclin. dont know what you might have or what its called over there, but basically is a foam like medicine for the inside of your anus. you take the thing that comes with it and inject it with the foam, then you while sitting on the toilet place it on your bum and push this button thing and it sticks it up there and squirts out the foam. this is basically to fix hemmorhoids both internal and external however i found that it also greatly relaxes and soothes the inner wall of your anus. if you have also bled due to very hard stools being passed out, you are likely to develop hemmorhoids. so... reading the thread and buying some stuff like that can really help you. i had alot of problems like this before, and found the solutions myself and now i am recovered from it for over 3 years. you can do the same.
