Hello all

I had the full monty yesterday

endoscopy and colonoscopy.
I was given some results right away but I have to wait for the biopsy results.

The endoscopy result shows
schatzki's ring
Hiatal hernia

The Colonoscopy result shows
Diverticulosis of the whole colon
Three sessile polyps in the sigmoid colon 3 to 6 mm
One sessile polyp in the cecum colon 5mm
One sessile polyp in the transverse colon 15mm

They also did a biopsy to check for celiac
any thoughts
should I be concerned ??

any response would be appreciated!!

Hi, I wish I could be of more help to you. I do have a hiatal hernia and I also have had colonoscopys and endo. They said I have ibs. The hiatal hernia was dicovered recently with a ct scan after the birth of my second child. I understand how frustrating it can be to have digestive issues, I have been dealing with them for years and I am 32 years old. The only advice I can offer is make sure you see a good GI doc and work with them. If you feel they are not helping get another doc. You deserve relief from any symptoms you may have. Diverticulosis needs to be watched, I have family members with that and you just need to change your diet around a bit. I was also tested for celiac, it was negative. The biopsy results for the polyps were that 4 were benign and 1 was precancerous. I tested positive for celiac. I see the GI doc on the 9th to discuss my next move. I also see a dermatologist for the dermatitis herpetiformis because of the celiac. YEAH!!!!!

Do you do anything for the hiatal hernia? does it bother you?

It is a good thing you were checked out! I am glad your o.k. Hopefully you can have some relief from any symptoms you have been having now that you have a diagnosis. I was told that there is not much you can do for the Hernia. Some chiropractors can pop it back in place, I have not checked on that though. I have a bit of heartburn and that is about it. Do you have symptoms? Let me know how everything goes!! Best of luck!
