Impacted colon from psyllium

Hello,
I took some psyllium on Saturday night, and well I think I messed up the dosage and now my bowels are not working. It's been two days, before I was moving my bowels 2-3 times a day. I am really worried that my bowel has become impacted. What should I do?
Thanks.

How did you mess up the dosage?

Have you been taking any other meds?

Re: Impacted colon from psyllium

Well, my friend gave me a little bag, it was maybe about 6 table spoons. I mixed all of it with pint of water and drank it. Now, I understand I was only to take about 2 spoonfuls. I'm worried I didn't drink enough water and the stuff is stuck in me. I drank a couple pints last night, and this morning, and just chugged 32oz of prune juice hoping that will get the system going.

I have no doubt that you are being kept quite busy by the quart of prune juice! You'll be fine.

Yeah, 6 tbsp is a bit much..lol. Directions are oh so important.

The prune juice could cause diarrhea probably after you've had the bm that was stalled from the metamucil.

What you might have done instead ws to drink coffee....that can stimulate the colon.

Let us know how it "goes"..lol.
