Post radiation colitis and bleeding

Had 46 radiation treatments in 2008, had to have Diverticulis surgery yr later, found out afterwards because of constant bleeding with every bowel movement, the radiation treatment had thinned out the wall of the bowel, with veins inside any thing that passes thru that area will bleed, with no cure.
Starting drinking cold V-8 juice a month ago daily, and all of a sudden the bleeding has stopped, why, I havent a clue, but it works.
Could be its a liquid fiber, but havent bled in over a month.
