embarassing problem...

Im 25, and i've had a problem for 5 or 6 years that Ive always been to embarassed to ask for help on. I got close once, blaming this problem on a recent med he gave me so that he might check it out. He put his finger in my anus and said I had some package, nothing a little fiber couldnt solve. I nervously smiled and left it there. Again, just too embarrassed.

The problem is, threw out the day i get what ive described as "swamp ***" - some version of a slight run off of very light brown fecal soup (i think). It usually doesnt get far enough to hit my underwear, but sometimes it does.

When I have a BM, I can wipe endlessly without ever fully becoming clean. It's common practice for me to flush twice sometimes three times, spent wiping. An hour later, or less, i'll need to wipe that swamp *** out again- maintenance. It's to the point that even when I just urinate, i use that time to also do a maintence wipe.

What is this swamp ***, why is it happening, and can it be giving me other medical problems (i am suffering a few, and im worred that maybe this could be the source of the problems and since im afraid to disclose it im never going to fix myself).

Try taking Citrucel or Metamucil three times a day to add bulk to your stools. Make sure you drink at another 8 oz. glass of water after taking these fiber supplements. You also need to add dietary fiber 25-30 grams a day and 64 oz. of water a day. Hopefully this will firm up your stools so you no longer have the leaking anymore. If this doesn't work after about 2 weeks then I would suggest you go see a gastroenterologist to find out what is causing this problem.

Re: embarassing problem...

Hi, I often have similar symptoms and a Colonoscopy revealed Diverticulitis. I was told to take (FIBREGEL) or (BENIFIBRE) to bulk up my stool. I don't know if any of these are available where you live. I found (BENIFIBRE) good as it is a powder you shake/stir into your food/drink, easy to take anywhere. It does help! If things don't improve ask to be referred for a Colonoscopy to find the cause. Good Luck, Solofelix.
