Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy - work and activities afterwards

I know there are numerous threads regarding the recovery process and I thank everybody for sharing their insight and experience. I am scheduled for a LIS soon and I have only asked for a week off from work. I understand that the healing process depends on the individual but I'm wondering if I will 'embarrass' myself if I return too soon.

I'm ready to endure any pain but I'm most worried about any smell, soiling, being unable to sit comfortably and spending my time in the bathroom should I need a bowel movement. Should I also bring anything extra to work to prevent any of the above from happening?

My second question is regarding exercise afterward the surgery. Will I be able to undergo light exercise or regular exercise after 2-3 weeks? I take part in sports activities every week so I fear any rigorous activity (say jumping, running, lounging) will effect the healing process. I know the recovery process can be as long as 6 weeks (or even more), so for any active people out there, did you limit yourself until you healed completely?

Thanks in advance
