hope every one is alright , i have been suffering from an anal fissure, it is painful after BM, i use anti-constipation drug and fiber-reach diet , the stool is soft no bleeding , but i can feel the sentinel pile (skin tag) at the end of my anus , first i thought it was pile but now i am sure it is an anal fissure as the pain only starts after BM, i hate going to toilet i just go every 48 hours , i use strong pain killer after BM called Zydol, i am having an appointment with Proctologist , it is really bad thing , i can not do my daily activity , i want to do the operation LIS , BUT I AM wondering if any one could have tried any treatment that worked and i am so worried from the LIS operation as it is painful and may have the possibility of having incontinence , infection or the fissure could recur.
any advice or help is highly appreciated

An anal fissure or hemmorhoid can be caused by constipation but also chronic diarrhea as well. It is helpful to have about 25-30 grams of fiber daily, both soluable and insoluable, plus 64 oz of water daily to prevent constipation. It may also help to use a fiber supplement such as Citricuel or Metamucil but make sure you drink enough water with this as well. Painkillers can cause constipation, so I hope you are not straining, as this will certainly aggravate a fissure, hemmoroid or rectal prolapse. When you see the Colon/Rectal Specialist, ask about a prescription cream called Niphediphine. I was able to heal my fissure and so far have not needed the LIS surgery. But if you have hemmorhoids, this cream will not work for that, surgery is your only answer. I wish you good health luck and let us know how your appointment goes.
thanks mate for the reply, I do appreciate this, yes I do have an appointment this Friday 16/03/2012, for sure will let you know what may happen with me, it is really annoying disease , I have lost many opportunities for work and I could not go for many interview for job due to this annoying anal fissure .
Two days ago I got a phone form a doctor who had an anal fissure and explained me the way who his fissure healed, he was injected by Botox which helped in his case and his fissure got cured by Botox and he warned me against doing the LIS as the possibility of incontinence might occur and he advised me to use this cream called (Diltiaxem cream) after and before the BM , so do you think Botox will be helpful in my case and is there any harmful effect of LIS operation
