First time posting, and it’s about my bowels…sheesh. Anyhow, I have internal and external hemorrhoids, and recently developed an anal fissure. This little fella is seriously painful! Doc prescribed me some nitroglycerin ointment and suppositories to treat all three. Her lately, though, I am having added trouble with my actual bowels.
I feel like I am full of poop, like a feeling of being constipated, but my stool is soft. The pain in my lower abdomen is so severe sometimes, it actually makes me gasp. The pain is most severe when I am trying to pass/push out the gas or poop. It feels as though I have been kicked repeatedly in the gut. I feel like I am bruised on the inside. It sort of feels like there is a brick or something keeping pressure in my lower bowel. My guts…and rectum, hurt when I walk, cough, laugh, or strain at all.
As you can imagine, the pain from the fissure and the pain from my lower bowel is almost intolerable. I have been on Spring Break this past week, but I start back Monday, and I am DREADING having to “go” at school!
Any ideas why my lower tummy hurts like it does, or how I can easy any of it?

So today has SUCKED! First trip to the restroom was torture! Second was worse. I've never left the bathroom crying. Pooping is NOT supposed to make you feel like you are being raped from the inside! This is ridiculous.
When this first started happening, I would joke with my husband about it. (He would NEVER 'check' it out to see what was causing the pain.) He would tell me the noises I was making in the bathroom were a little too close to those I make in the bedroom, lol.
I guess my point is, having potty problems used to be something we could joke around about to take the unpleasentness away, but after this morning, it is no laughing matter anymore. I literally felt like mybody had violated me!
I've been doing a lot of reading and looking at different images, and can label some of my own parts now, which helps, but knowing what it is, and why it hurts does not help ease the pain.
I think I am looking for moral support from those who know what I am going though as much as I am looking for imformation/advise.
Diverticulitis is generally a middle age plus condition. I have it myself and was diagnosed because of left-side pain and alternating bowel symptoms.
The pain could be from the Hemorhoids or even IBS.
Have you had a Colonoscopy if not that should be your next step, see your Dr again.
All the best,
not so true, solofelix. my mother developed it earlier in life due to the fact that she always strained and her bm's were hard and bally. the pocket develops from not emptying the bowels often enough or from hard straining. it causes severe pain when a person gets backed up or bm's are too large.
I haven't had a clonoscopy yet, doc said to come see hime again if I still have the fissure in a month, which will be next week.
My bm's aren't hard at all. They are generally soft to medium in texture (omgsh, I can't believe I'm describing the texture of my poop). This pain in my abdomen has happened before the fissure, too. It lasted for a few days and was over. It was just as painful before, but, as I said,, there wasn't a fissure accompanying it.
I stayed in bed most of today, hoping maybe if I was relaxed thenn maybe those lower muscles would relax. The crappiest thing about it is, my ******** hurts AND my tummy hurts. Together, it's nothing short of torture trying to do a natural body funtion. To pass gas is even excruciating!
well...your only way of knowing is with the colonscopy. i'm not looking forward to mine and it's next month. but...i suppose it will answer a lot of questions. not only that...if polyps or anything like that are present, they actually remove or cauterize them while you're out. certainly wouldn't hurt you any more to have one. all the best and i hope you start to feel better soon.

Hi there,
What you are describing very much sounds like IBS!! I've had IBS for 12 yrs now, and always get pain in my lower abdomen, along with pain in my lower left side of my stomach. I was advise you, to see a doctor about that rule out any IBS symptoms and aslo something called Illeocecal Valve Syndrome Get checked for both of these, as they can be fairly similar in nature lol. If you cannot get a proper diagnose, then there's always the option, to go on a FODMAP diet, or purchasing IBS pills, if your really worried about it Hope this info helps. Take care.

You are right boobootwo. If you noticed I did say GENERALLY it is more of a middle aged complaint.
My Specialist told me it Generally occurs due to lack of sufficient Fibre in the diet. It's a case of getting that right as well because through experience I have found that too much Fibre can have the opposite effect.
I hope you find an answer to your pain.
All the best,
