13 Surgeries (2 LIFT procedures), Fistula wins...Is this normal?

Ok, so I had an abscess in 2010, then of course, a fistula was discovered, a high, complicated fistula that cross my sphincter muscles.
Here is my ?: I have had 2 LIFT procedures and both have failed.
I have had 11 surgeries under general anesthia (2 LIFT) but most of them were to drain the recurrent abscess. I had 2 "local" surgeries where they tried to drain the abscess and that was so painful, Ill never do that again...
I have been operated on at UCSF by 3 different surgeons including the Colorectal Chief and I know they are all competent.
My friends keep telling me asian medicine. Anyone gone that route?
Has anyone else had this much trouble with their fistulas?
Chrons has been ruled out for me.

Any info would help.
