Multiple Symptoms related to bowel disorders.

History:
2 years ago I lost a lot of weight and was having pain with diareha. This last several weeks. I was then diagonised with Ulcerative Colitis. Within days after treatment was much better.

1 year ago, same symptoms appeared. Dr says it was a flair up, took meds and some improvement was seen. I started to vomit, only on an empty stomach in the evenin. It was usually just bile. Seen by another Dr and did test for gallbladder. Gall bladder was at 15% working. Opted to remove gall bladder. Some relief but still had some symptoms, mostly the vomitting.

Now, Dr believes I am having a flair up of the UC. What I am expiriencing is:
Nasal drip/metallic taste in my mouth and discomfort in my chest, slight nasuea. This occurs if I have not had a bowel movement. I try to have a bowel movement and if I have one that is signifigant, usually solid, then within an hour the other symptoms subside. Then through out the day I have several bowel movements that only contain mucus. It also appears to have little black specks in it when I clean myself. I do eat some nuts and seeds.

I honestly feel like my colon is backed up into my stomach and when I have a bowel movement then the sour stomach goes away.

Anyone else have anything similar? Three years this has been going on.

Thank you

It sounds like when you haven't moved your bowels in more than possibly 3 days you get upset stomach and this is fairly common. Many people get and upset stomach, bloating, abdominal cramps, and a very hard distended abdomen. The mucous may be a sign that you have completely emptied out your colon. Try increasing your water intake and fiber intake to see if that helps you to become more regular in moving your bowels.
I have had chronic constipation problems all my life and I can tell you from experience in the last year of changing my diet and drinking more water and having a daily scheduled time on the toilet to move my bowels has made a significant change in bowels moving on a daily basis. As soon as I don't do one or all of these things everyday then I have real problems moving my bowels without extreme pain from trying to do so.
