Hey,
I don't know if my diet will do me any good as I was already pretty clean. I would hardly touch artificial foods, sodas, fried, bbq stuffs. I did consume TOO MUCH ALCOHOL and raw stuff, and attribute this incident to raw food I ate on a trip. Of course it's hard to pin-point exactly, but the coincidences of getting sick after coming back from my trip seemed too familiar. I recall eating raw squid and fish. Perhaps my weakened immune system during travel allowed the infection to grow.
Since the ER run in, I've quit drinking and feel real good about it. I have a genuine new outlook in life now, and care about my health a lot more.
I believe diet is really important, and so I now eat a lot more fresh fruits and veggies and avoid 'raw' fish/meat. I've read that coffee will dehydrate the body, thus causing digestive/rectal/colon instability. So I substitute coconut water or just water in general. I don't drink bottle juice and will rather buy fresh squeezed juice or make my own.
I avoid preservatives, packaged goods, and food coloring. But of course, it's impossible to be THAT CLEAN. Still, I find myself going to the market for fresh goods as opposed to buying FROZEN VEGGIES.
I don't have anything in particular but feel like this might've been just a freak thing, and I hope so too. Still, I'm not any younger and realize what it means to age. The thing is to enjoy life. It might seem like I'm some freak, but after going through what I did, I feel I cannot just consume everything and should watch what I eat. It took some time, but slowly and surely, I hope my immune system can get stronger.
Any alcoholic like myself can tell you, the body is AMAZING in its ability to heal. We can recover. Sometimes, all it takes is some rest/relaxation.
Sorry for the long post.
