 Allergies an Bowel Preps
Hi,
Has anyone else who suffers from multiple drug/food and chemical allergies used a colonoscopy bowel prep that didn't cause a problem? I have cancelled my colonoscopy a few times as I am so worried but the public hospital doctors don't seem to worry stating "few people are allergic to the preps because they are not absorbed." I am very allergic to Sulphur, Etheleyne and to Aspartme and I note those drugs are in many preps. I went to a Specialist who said maybe two week fluids only and 4 days on Epsom Salts.
Have suffered IBS since 2005, recently in hospital for 2 weeks with Acute Sigmoi Diverticulitus and still passing blood in stools but in a way I don't want to have a Colonoscopy as I am scared about having a reaction especially as there is no oneto stay with me at home.
Anyone got any advice/ experience with preps and being an Atopic person?
